His Story…

Born many weeks premature, life for Glenn started out hard and was a struggle. As he grew up he looked like and played like the other children, however, the fact was that he wasn’t like the other children. Glenn Ray, as he was known at the time had a severe stutter and would later be diagnosed, in his High School years, as having dyslexia. He never gave up and his teachers and principles were determined as well.

It was Jonah Boyd, Principal of L.F. Smith Elementary in Pasadena, TX, that made the most impact in his life and gave him direction. In the third grade Mr. Boyd ask Glenn Ray to memorize and recite a poem in front of his class. With his classmates, his mother and Mr. Boyd watching Glenn Ray, to their surprise Glenn did not stutter and had a new confidence. After noticing Glenn Ray’s expressive performance Mr. Boyd then told Glenn Ray that he would make a good actor and storyteller.

Since 1995 Glenn Ray Little has traveled the United States educating while entertaining thousands of children with his talents that make stories come alive. His motivational message has not changed from the beginning “If I can do it, so can you, your only limitation is your own imagination.”

When there is an opportunity, Glenn likes to speak to the “Special Education” Departments at the schools in between his shows at no charge. Glenn has a passion for this group because he was one of them and likes to give them a word of encouragement and tell his story and talk about his struggles. It wasn’t until Glenn spoke at a principal/PTA dinner where he was asked to be the keynote speaker, that he too was encouraged by principals and PTA presidents that his story should be told to all children.

For the 2005-2006 season Glenn Ray Little would like to not only extend a “Special Offer” for having him come to your school over the years, but to celebrate his 10 years of storytelling as well. He wants to tell his inspirational story coupled with the story that he will be telling.

“I would like to tell you a story, it’s a story about a boy who never gave up, no matter how hard it was, or what kind of obstacles came his way. He knew that it wasn’t going to be like this forever.”

Wow! My have the years gone by fast. Many things have changed since 1995, I got married and have a beautiful little girl named Emily and one on the way. In 1995 I was known as Storytime Theater, and then I became known as Little Productions, now it is just Glenn Ray Little.

Over the years many things have changed: my company’s name, my family, even my waist line, but one thing has never changed, my commitment to quality storytelling. What ever the story, from Abraham Lincoln to Pecos Bill or one of my new science shows, my stories have educated as well as entertained thousands of children every year. And yes I still do BOOM-CHICK-A-BOOM.
